The Atonement

Recently, our Discipleship Class covered the Atonement. We want to provide this Quick Reference Guide to aid you in your study.

  • God provided a perfect sacrifice (Exodus 12:5)

  • God requires a blood sacrifice for our atonement (Leviticus 17:11)

  • Jesus paid for all our sins (Isaiah 53:3-12)

  • The Atonement is good news (Luke 4:18-19)

  • Jesus willingly dies for sin (John 10:17)

  • Jesus secures salvation through His blood (Acts 20:28)

  • Jesus, Himself, provided the atonement for our sins (Romans 3:23-25)

  • The death of Jesus purchased our forgiveness (1 Corinthians 7:23)

  • The Atonement allows us to have relationship with God (Ephesians 2:13)

  • Jesus’ death rescues us from eternal punishment (Colossians 1:13)

  • Jesus’ death pruifies God’s people (Titus 2:14)

  • Sin requires a sacrifice be made (Hebrew 9:22)

  • The sacrifice of Jesus was perfect (1 Peter 1:18-19)

  • Jesus took our punishent (1 Peter 2:21-24)

  • The atoment is complete and cannot be improved upon (1 Peter 3:18)
